To help you decide which medical option is right for you, you can use eValuator®, a confidential web-based tool that prompts you to answer a series of questions about your healthcare needs. Based on the information you provide, you will see a comparison of out-of-pocket costs you can expect under each of the medical options
While there are important differences among the medical plan options to understand and evaluate, there are also some key elements they have all in common:
-
UnitedHealthcare (UHC) administers all McGraw-Hill medical options. UHC offers many online tools and resources to help you manage your healthcare experience, as well as on-call member support. To learn more about UHC and the range of resources and services provided, visit www.myuhc.com. If you are not yet a member, log on with username: mcgrawhill and password mcgrawhill.
-
Each medical option includes access to UHC's "Choice Plus" provider network. This national network of doctors, specialists, hospitals and other healthcare providers makes it easy to find lower-cost, in-network care close to where you live and work.
-
None of the medical options require that you designate a single primary care physician (PCP). When you need care, you may visit any licensed provider (though benefits are always higher when you stay in-network). You can also visit an in-network specialist without a PCP referral and still receive the same in-network level of benefits.
-
All three options offer you a choice of in-network or out-of-network care. You do not need to identify a primary care physician and no referrals are required to visit a specialist with any of the medical options.
-
Prescription drug benefits, which are administered by Medco, are the same for all medical options. No matter which medical option you choose, you'll find the same comprehensive prescription drug benefits under each, including a money-saving mail-order option. Maximums for any prescription will apply so that your out-of-pocket cost remains manageable.
-
Mental health and substance abuse benefits, which are administered by ValueOptions, under each medical option are aligned with benefit levels for other covered medical benefits. For example, if the healthcare option you select provides 80% coinsurance for in-network medical services, then behavioral health services will also provide 80% coinsurance.
-
Protection against high out-of-pocket costs. Each medical plan provides protection against excessive healthcare expenses by including an annual out-of-pocket maximum.
-
Each medical option offers access to Custom Care Coordination, described in Healthy Living Resources, which provides quick and easy access to resources such as 24/7 Nurseline, Smoking Cessation, Healthy Pregnancy Program, Hospital Admission Counseling, Cancer Resource Services, and Transplant Resource Services.
